Room in the Inn is a Nashville-based ministry serving men, women, and children who are experiencing homelessness. During the months of November-March, our church hosts a group of 12 individuals on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

When guests arrive from Nashville, they receive a warm dinner, a place to shower, a safe place to rest, and breakfast and lunch to go. Guests are also provided with any new clothing or toiletry needs they may have. While there were many churches that hosted Room in the Inn guests at one time, that number has drastically decreased reminding us how important this ministry is to who we are.

When our church was being designed and planned to be built at our current location on Aldersgate Way, this church made an intentional decision to make sure we had space for showers and rooms that could accommodate beds. Caring for someone who does not have a safe place to stay is a core aspect of the Kingdom of God. The guests who come to stay here are not only offered food and warmth but love and appreciation. We know these men and women are our neighbors and fellow children of God and we are honored to host them.

There are many ways to support the work of Room in the Inn as an individual or with your groups including:

  • Provide dinner for guests and RITI volunteers
  • Drive the bus or serve as bus assistant to pick up and drop off guests
  • Serve by setting up beds, greeting, hosting the clothing or toiletry closet, or providing other hospitality
  • Provide breakfast or to-go lunches for guests
  • Stay overnight with guests (currently requires a male host)
