Join us for dinner, fellowship and entertainment each month except December on the second Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at our Main Campus at a cost of $12.00 per person (Price will be increased to $15 in September). Reservations are required by Sunday evening preceding the event by registering online. Various programs are planned for entertainment, information, inspiration and fellowship. Join the “A Novel Bunch” Book Club! They meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 1-2:30pm in Room B-138 at our Main Campus for discussion and light snacks. Books are purchased individually at a retailer of your choosing. This group is open to all adults ages 55 and over and is facilitated by Tammy Horton. Looking for a night out at a local restaurant in the company of new and long-time friends? Then this group’s for you! The Franklin First UMC Dining Out group is for adult ages 65 and over to have a fun place for dinner and conversation. Discover wonderful new restaurants, revisit old favorites, enjoy delicious meals and make satisfying conversation with friendly dinner companions.

Join us the 4th Tuesday of each month. The restaurants vary, but the company is always good. Typically we order from the menu and pay for our own meals. It’s a big dinner table and all are welcome! Sisters in Stitchers Long Logo

Do you like to sew? Consider joining the Sisters in Stitchery group at Franklin First UMC. This group makes various garments for our partners in mission as well as making chemo caps and walker accessories for those who need them. This group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 9 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in Room C268, and is led by Anita Dilliard . For further information contact the Pastor of Adult Ministry .

Coffee & Conversations is a 1 hour and 15 minute program addressing issues on aging designed for those over 60 and those who are involved in their care. A variety of topics presented by knowledgeable speakers on issues such as choosing a Senior Living Center, navigating Medicare, avoiding scams, or end-of-life planning will be covered throughout the year. Generally, these conversations are held on the first Thursday evening at 6:30pm and repeated again on the first Friday morning at 10am of each month. Quilters meet weekly during the school year on Tuesdays from 10 am-11:30am to make baptismal quilts for FFUMC infants and small pillows for older siblings, as well as other mission-minded groups. This group is led by Anne Ireland. Contact the Pastor of Adult Ministry in the Church office for additional information.

This group is a great place for individuals over 65 desiring to gather together in Christian fellowship and service. We meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 1pm for a time of devotion, service, and fellowship to strengthen Christian friendships and go out to serve! Once or twice a month we join together to serve the church or community in a variety of projects ranging from Room in the Inn to preparing for VBS. Join others for short-term Biblical Studies during the academic year as a part of the Wednesday Night Live program. This group meets from 4-5pm using the same study as the 6:30pm Short-Term Study offering. Look to the Wednesday Night Live program under Adult Studies for the current offering. The Congregational Care Team sponsors a Prayer Shawl Ministry team that meets every Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. to knit and pray. Their creations of prayer shawls are shared with those in need of prayer when walking through difficult experiences in their lives. New knitters are always welcome!
