First Friends Logo

First Friends is a visitation ministry to those in our church who have limited mobility and are not able to be in fellowship with the church on a regular basis. Lay visitors are bright spots in the ordinary day as the visit, share hope and develop friendships.

This ministry brings joy to our home-bound, nursing home/assisted living, or memory-challenged members by reminding them that they are important in the life of Franklin First UMC. You will find that what starts out as a ministry to help will, in turn, bring you much joy.

If you know of someone who currently do not receive a visit from this team, but would like to, please contact Miriam Seyler at the church office at 615-794-2734 or mseyler@franklinfumc.org.

Join us on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to noon in Room C-251 at our Main Campus for the Huff and Puff Exercise Group adults ages 55 and over. Exercise is a great way to promote a healthy, active lifestyle in adults.

This class is designed to increase strength, flexibility and your range of motion. It’s all low-impact, in fact, some of the exercises you can do while holding on to a chair. We’ll be using light weights…no more than 5lbs and tubing to build your strength and flexibility.

Our certified instructor, Kris Risley, directs us with specialized instructions for individual limitations. For more information, please contact Debbie Miller at 615-472-8691.
