Job Summary & Description:
Franklin First United Methodist Church has a dynamic, multi-faceted music ministry. The Modern Worship Leader position is responsible for the planning and implementation of modern worship. They will work closely with the Director of Music Ministries and the Senior Leadership Team to enhance worship services and bring the congregation closer to the Lord through the gift of music. This position will provide instrumental & vocal leadership for the Sunday morning modern worship services. They will also assist the Director of Music Ministries in any other areas of worship at Franklin First UMC as needed. This job description should not be interpreted as all-inclusive. The incumbent may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities other than those stated in this job description and should perform all job duties in alignment with the mission and vision of FFUMC and the beliefs of the United Methodist Church expressed in the Book of Discipline.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plan, rehearse, and lead relevant Sunday worship experiences that honor God and bring the congregation into a deeper connection with Him.
- Meet weekly (or as needed) with the Director of Music Ministries
- Facilitate spiritually engaging modern services that embody the mission and vision of the Church.
- Draw church members and community into connection with God through carefully chosen music and lyrics.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with other musicians, members of the congregation, and staff.
- Lead a musically productive and spiritually forming weekly worship practice.
- Recruit, schedule, develop, and facilitate the integration of music teams throughout the church
- Produce charts for the praise band each week.
- Use Planning Center Online (PCO) to coordinate all worship activities and schedule band members and vocalists for modern services.
- Serve as accompanist for modern services (as needed)
- Submit reports to Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) when required.
- Meet weekly with tech staff for all audio/visual needs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- A strong vocalist who leads from an instrument (Guitar preferred)
- Understanding of current worship technology, including Multitracks, Ableton, ProPresenter, Planning Center, etc.
- Expansive knowledge of current modern worship music and trends
- Ability to conduct spiritually moving worship services rich in theology and musically excellent.
- Degree in music or considerable participation in the field required.
- Proficiency in music theory with the ability to arrange and chart music.
- Willingness to continue learning and desire to be a servant leader.
- Have a consistent, active, and growing relationship with Jesus.
- Understand spiritual components of worship leadership.
- Familiarity with United Methodist (Wesleyan) worship traditions and theology
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a high-energy environment and lead in worship for multiple hours at a time.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Degree and experience: Degree in music or considerable experience in the field required.

Nursery Staff Member
Franklin First United Methodist Church is seeking to hire 2-3 additional nursery staff members to begin immediately. We are looking for friendly, caring individuals who love children to work in our nurseries with ages 0-3. Availability every Sunday is non-negotiable.
Position Type: Part-time on Sunday mornings
Hours: Sundays, 8:00-11:30 am, with the potential to add additional hours as requested
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Child care experience is essential.
- All applicants will undergo a thorough background check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Applicants must be certified in adult, infant and child CPR or be willing to undergo training within first 2 months of employment.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Caring for children in a gentle and loving manner and interacting with them in a fun and playful way
- Taking care of the needs of children, such as feeding, changing diapers and being attentive to separation anxiety
- We are looking for team players who are cheerful and excited to work each week. Staff members will work with different staff members and age levels at different times.
- Staff must be willing to devote all of your attention to the children and stay vigilant at all times to watch for potential harm. This includes paying careful attention for hazards and the allergies and/or medical concerns of each child.
- Staff must adhere to cleaning and diapering procedures and maintain a clean and healthy environment. This includes adhering to the latest COVID protocols for FFUMC and cleaning the nursery at the end of the shift.
- Staff must wear appropriate uniforms each week.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential to this job position. We cannot open the nursery without proper ratios.
