The Accessible Congregation Committee strives to make Franklin First UMC a barrier-free church. We work to ensure that our facilities and programs are available to everyone. Over the years, we have helped to make available large print hymnals and bulletins and hearing devices for our sanctuary. We have helped with some small adaptations to make our facilities more convenient for the mobility-impaired.
The Accessible Congregation Committee has sponsored Disability Awareness services at church and Sunday School to educate our congregation about the contributions our differently-abled members bring to us. We are especially proud of our Special Friends program – volunteers who attend Sunday School with children and youth who need assistance to participate fully and safely.
