Franklin First United Methodist Church Preschool & Parents Day Out Program

Preschool

A child initiated, teacher directed curriculum fits well within the center based programming at Franklin First UMC Preschool.

We see that every child develops at a different rate.  That’s why we have a carefully selected curriculum.  The goals and guidelines of this curriculum correlate with TNELDS, Tennessee Early Learning Development Standards.

Preschool-PDO-3Our curriculum follows the philosophies of the nationally acclaimed Creative Curriculum, a comprehensive program where children learn through intentional play and teaching.  Children in our Preschool program will learn literacy, math, social studies, science, art and processing skills through planned activities that are developmentally appropriate.

A child initiated, teacher directed curriculum fits well within the center based programming required by the State of Tennessee for the STAR assessment program.

Parent’s Day Out

A program that is specifically designed so your younger children can grow and learn about the world around them through play, music and art.

We realize that all children are unique.  In the Franklin First Preschool we customize our activities to the needs of your children.  As the capabilities of the children develop and grow, our activities grow and expand in the same way.  Each day our activities will balance between active, fine motor, gross motor, and quiet play time.

We love to be creative.  In Art, we work with paints, play dough, crayons and a variety of other materials.Preschool-PDO-1

For literacy, we read stories and even get creative and use our imaginations as we make up stories and have fun with language. In Music, we learn to respond with our voice in fun and appropriate ways.  We sing fun songs and play musical games.

Our Purpose

We will provide your child a loving Christian environment  where they can grow to become part of a caring, responsible community. We are designed to take a child from the first group experience as a toddler to a Kindergarten readiness classroom that prepares them for future adventures in education.

At Franklin First Preschool & Parent’s Day Out, we believe that the whole child is important.  We look at your child’s development as spiritual, emotional, social, mental and physical.  We provide an opportunity to develop each of these areas at his or her own pace. Your child’s self worth and self esteem are vital.  That’s why we offer an atmosphere of love, warmth and safety.  As one of a child’s first group encounters with other children, it is important that this experience is positive, uplifting and enjoyable.

The trust extended to us to care for children is not taken lightly.  We will strive to make this program a meaningful place for both you and your child.
