In 2009, he won the Colgate Country Showdown, a national singing competition which landed him a publishing deal at Warner Chappell Music. After 9 years under the Warner label, Johnny signed a publishing deal with country superstar, Chris Young. In 2011, he got his first Major Label Artist cut, “Flashlight” recorded by Chris Young. He wrote his first #1 hit with Lee Brice’s “A Woman Like You” (2011) followed by “Lonely Eyes” by Chris Young (2014). His other major label releases include “What If I Stayed”, “It Must Be Christmas” and “Holiday” by Chris Young. He has been awarded as a 3x platinum selling writer. He is currently touring the world with his singer-songwriter wife, Heidi Raye as their new duo, Johnny and Heidi.
