We believe LOVE in ACTION can CHANGE the world.

Faith Action Sisterhood

United Women in Faith seeks to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education so that they can inspire, influence, and impact local and global communities.

We have FIVE Circles, and 2 Mission Circles at Franklin First and invite you to join us!


United Women in Faith are a community of women whose purpose is:

  1. To Know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ
  2. To develop a creative and supportive fellowship
  3. To expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

United Women in Faith and The United Methodist Church’s principles and values include:

  • Promoting the empowerment of women, children, and youth.
  • Promoting anti-racism and multiculturalism.
  • Promoting inclusion and equity.
  • Promoting fair labor practices.
  • Promoting economic and environmental stewardship and sustainability.

United Women in Faith Circles

Lydia Circle – Women of all ages meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at members’ homes. Summer Sheldon (sturvy@hotmail.com) for details.

Mary Martha Circle – Retired women meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. in Room B-144. Jo Ellen Hunter (hunterje9@comcast.net) or Peggy Frost for details.

Sisters Circle – Women of all ages. Meets on the 4th Sunday from 5-6:30 p.m. at various homes or at church.  Contact Sarah Carty for details.

Retired women meet on the 1st Tuesdays at 2 p.m. in Room A-113. Mary Jo Harlan (mary_jo_harlan@comcast.net) or Patsy Belcher (patsybtn@gmail.com) for details.

Younger women gather on the 2nd Thursdays from 6:30 – 7:30pm at various homes. Mary Ann McGinley (mcginleymaryann@gmail.com) for details.

Meets on Tuesday mornings at 10am in Room B-144 to make baptismal quilts for FFUMC members and quilts for Gracework’s Our Littlest Angels. Lil Polk or Sarah Carty (scarty@franklinfumc.org) for details.

Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. in Room C-268 to make various items used for mission. Nancy Garrison (garrisondonald@bellsouth.net) for details.
