A Celebration of the Presentation
of Bibles to Third Graders
September 19, 2021
Leader: Today is an important day for all of our third graders. Today, these children are taking their next steps in their learning and discovery, as they begin to make their faith their own. This church supports their growth as individuals and followers of Jesus Christ.
Children, receive this Bible as a gift from Franklin First United Methodist Church. Learn its stories and study its words. The stories belong to all of us, regardless of our age. Its words tell us of God’s eternal love for us.
(Each child will be called by name
to receive their Bible.)
Congregation: We rejoice in this step in your journey with God. We pray God will guide you, your family, and all of us as you use this Holy Bible in your home, in Sunday School, and in worship. We will help you to grow in your love for God’s Word.
Pastor: Lord God, bless these third graders as they receive Your Word today. May they learn about Your love, find comfort when in trials, and always know You are with them. Bless them each day as they walk in the way that leads to life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
All: The Word of God is a lamp to our feet, and a light to our path. Thanks be to God!
