Prayer of Confession:
All: Holy God, we are consumed with our own wants and desires. We worship you in ways that fit in with our priorities and ignore the clear path of justice you created for us to follow. We embrace a false sense of security in possessions and power, when you show us that compassion, mercy, and justice for the vulnerable are the actions that bring abundance into our lives. Forgive us. Set our feet in step with yours. We want to walk with you. We need you and we trust you completely. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon:
Leader: Friends, the Lord knows our struggles. The mercy of God meets us in our confession and restores us in truth. Let this encourage you to live in the truth of Christ that sets you free. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
