Youth Ministry Associate - Middle School
A worshipping congregation of 800 is seeking a team-oriented and engaging full-time Youth Ministry Associate to join our youth ministry staff team to serve a well-established United Methodist Church in Franklin, TN. This person will be responsible for providing leadership for all aspects of middle school ministry to youth in grades 7-8, building relationships with students and their families and developing and leading programs and events.
Qualifications for this position include a joyful excitement for ministering with middle school youth, excellent communication skills, and a working knowledge of United Methodist theology. Interested candidates should have a high school diploma or GED. Some college and 1-3 years of middle school youth ministry experience is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and executing the vision and goals of the middle school ministry.
- Collaboratively plan and execute Wednesday night and Sunday morning programs.
- Coordinate small groups for middle school-aged youth.
- Plan and execute middle school-specific activities, events, and trips.
- Execute an effective strategy for welcoming rising 7th graders and their parents into the youth ministry.
- Assist Director of Youth Ministries with combined and high school events and trips as needed.
- Maintain and manage an annual budget.
- Engage regularly (5 hours per week minimum) with youth and families outside scheduled programming following Safe Sanctuary guidelines.
- Builds relationships with leaders in local schools and partners with local middle and high schools to serve in appropriate ways.
- Coordinates communication to parents, youth, and volunteers about upcoming ministry opportunities through the website, weekly newsletter, email, and social media.
- Connects with and invites MIA (Missing and Inactive) youth to engage with youth groups.
- Actively pursues avenues to connect middle school students with the FFUMC congregation.
- Provides a welcoming atmosphere for youth and adult leaders.
- Helps recruit and secure leaders for all aspects of ministry.
- Assists with other duties as assigned by the Director of Youth Ministries.

Nursery Staff Member
Franklin First United Methodist Church is seeking to hire 2-3 additional nursery staff members to begin immediately. We are looking for friendly, caring individuals who love children to work in our nurseries with ages 0-3. Availability every Sunday is non-negotiable.
Position Type: Part-time on Sunday mornings
Hours: Sundays, 8:00-11:30 am, with the potential to add additional hours as requested
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Child care experience is essential.
- All applicants will undergo a thorough background check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Applicants must be certified in adult, infant and child CPR or be willing to undergo training within first 2 months of employment.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Caring for children in a gentle and loving manner and interacting with them in a fun and playful way
- Taking care of the needs of children, such as feeding, changing diapers and being attentive to separation anxiety
- We are looking for team players who are cheerful and excited to work each week. Staff members will work with different staff members and age levels at different times.
- Staff must be willing to devote all of your attention to the children and stay vigilant at all times to watch for potential harm. This includes paying careful attention for hazards and the allergies and/or medical concerns of each child.
- Staff must adhere to cleaning and diapering procedures and maintain a clean and healthy environment. This includes adhering to the latest COVID protocols for FFUMC and cleaning the nursery at the end of the shift.
- Staff must wear appropriate uniforms each week.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential to this job position. We cannot open the nursery without proper ratios.
