Job Summary & Description:
The Coordinator of Marketing & Communications under the direction of the DOA operationalizes communication and marketing initiatives that support the mission, vision, and values of Franklin First United Methodist Church. This role supports the church’s efforts in brand management, digital engagement, media production, and public relations across various platforms including website, livestream, mobile app, social media, and email communications.
This position serves as a resource for staff and ministry leaders to ensure consistent, effective, and creative messaging that engages both internal and external audiences.
This job description outlines the primary duties of the position but is not exhaustive. The Coordinator may be asked to assist with additional duties as assigned and is expected to perform all duties in alignment with the mission, vision, and theological commitments of the United Methodist Church.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the church website, ensuring content is current and functionality is optimized
- Create and implement innovative digital marketing strategies to increase engagement across web, social media, and mobile platforms.
- Recommend communication strategies and branding initiatives that align with the vision of the Senior Pastor and church leadership and implement as directed
- Monitor church-wide communication to ensure consistency and clarity across platforms.
- Monitor and analyze digital metrics to evaluate effectiveness and optimize future content.
- Manage email marketing campaigns (e.g., weekly newsletters) and ensure effective communication flow to the congregation and broader community.
Duties/Responsibilities, continued:
- Direct creative development for sermon series, events, and ministry campaigns (digital and print).
- Manage video production, livestreaming, and digital storytelling to support worship, outreach, and ministry communication.
- Collaborate with ministry staff and lay leaders to support communication needs for events, initiatives, and programs.
- Coordinate with external vendors (designers, video producers, media partners) as needed.
- Participate actively as a member of the Operations Team, including attending weekly meetings and offering communications expertise as a resource.
- Serve as liaison to local media outlets and coordinate public relations efforts including writing press releases when requested.
- Promote church ministries and initiatives to internal (congregation) and external (community, media) audiences.
- Establish communication protocols, workflows, and brand standards across the church.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, MailChimp
- Experience with video editing platforms such as Vimeo and YouTube
- Familiarity with church database systems (CCB) and marketing platforms
- Proficiency in social media including Instagram and Facebook
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- A team player who fosters collaboration and creativity

Youth Ministry Associate

Job Summary & Description:
The Youth Ministries Associate helps carry out the youth ministry mission to Love God, Love Others, and Live Weird through leading the music ministry, engaging with youth and families in the community and helping them to connect to the youth ministry and church and supporting all regular programs. This job description should not be interpreted as all-inclusive. It is intended to identify the major responsibilities and requirements of this job. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description and should perform all job duties in alignment with the following mission and vision statement and with the beliefs of the United Methodist Church Book of Discipline.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Connects regularly with youth and families outside scheduled programming including school, sports activities and informal meetups.
- Will follows Safe Sanctuary Guidelines at all times.
- Gathers and organizes schedules for school and community sports and activities. Works with staff to make sure we are meeting our goals of community engagement. Maintains record of contacts made by all youth staff.
- Seeks opportunities to connect in new ways with the community where our youth and families are present and involved.
- Builds relationships with leaders in local schools including teachers, coaches, administration, and club leaders. Finds appropriate ways to partner with local middle and high schools.
- Participates in leadership on Sunday mornings as directed by the Director of Youth Ministries.
- Serves as a small group leader for Wednesday Night Live.
- Provides leadership for trips and events.
- Assists in promoting upcoming programs through email, social media, 415 Youth website, flyers, and personal contacts to youth and families.
- Designs and lead worship experiences for Sunday mornings, Sunday nights, events, and retreats.
- Assists in following up with guests and reaching out to youth who are MIA (missing or inactive.)
- Participate in one continuing education opportunity per year.
- Attend regular coaching and support meetings with the Director of Youth Ministry.
- Overall time commitment would include:
- 20% engaging with youth, families, and community members through attending sports, school and extra-curricular activities and local events.
- 15% in direct contact with youth through organized ministry including Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, band rehearsals, and trips and retreats.
- 55% in preparation, organization and administrative (planning programs, communication, logistics, weekly youth staff meeting, etc.)
- 5% in contact with youth through informal meet-ups and contact work.
- 5% in serving and connecting in the church and with the community. (Giving Garden, local missions, worship service, One Gen Away, etc.)

Nursery Staff Member
Franklin First United Methodist Church is seeking to hire 2-3 additional nursery staff members to begin immediately. We are looking for friendly, caring individuals who love children to work in our nurseries with ages 0-3. Availability every Sunday is non-negotiable.
Position Type: Part-time on Sunday mornings
Hours: Sundays, 8:00-11:30 am, with the potential to add additional hours as requested
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Child care experience is essential.
- All applicants will undergo a thorough background check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Applicants must be certified in adult, infant and child CPR or be willing to undergo training within first 2 months of employment.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Caring for children in a gentle and loving manner and interacting with them in a fun and playful way
- Taking care of the needs of children, such as feeding, changing diapers and being attentive to separation anxiety
- We are looking for team players who are cheerful and excited to work each week. Staff members will work with different staff members and age levels at different times.
- Staff must be willing to devote all of your attention to the children and stay vigilant at all times to watch for potential harm. This includes paying careful attention for hazards and the allergies and/or medical concerns of each child.
- Staff must adhere to cleaning and diapering procedures and maintain a clean and healthy environment. This includes adhering to the latest COVID protocols for FFUMC and cleaning the nursery at the end of the shift.
- Staff must wear appropriate uniforms each week.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential to this job position. We cannot open the nursery without proper ratios.
