Call to Confession:
Liturgist: We come from a world of darkness into Christ’s world of light. Strengthened by the Spirit, we come to awaken our souls and confess our sins before God and one another as together we pray
Prayer of Confession:
Congregation: Lord, have mercy on us. We live in sin, as though there were no justice. We live in fear, as though there were no grace. We live in darkness, as though your Light was not shining all around. Forgive us, Lord. Show us your mercy and steadfast love. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon:
Liturgist: Hear this Good News! The light shines in the darkness and the darkness shall not overcome it. Therefore I declare to you, in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
Congregation: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
All: Glory to God. Amen.
