Call to Confession:
Liturgist: Jesus’ rising from the dead assures us that we, too, have been given new life. Let us repent our sin before God and one another, certain of God’s mercy, as together we pray:
Prayer of Confession:
People: Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon:
Liturgist: This is the good news! Christ died and rose from the grave so that you shall not die but live. Therefore I declare to you in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
Congregation: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
