“The words ‘garden tools’ usually renders thoughts of hoes, trowels and wheelbarrows. These are all used at The Giving Garden. One often used, but least thought about tool, is a knee pad. Let’s face it, the more gardening experience you have, the more likely you are to need a knee pad!!

How ironic that a lowly unforgotten garden tool is actually the most impactful garden tool. It’s a humbling act to be on our knees doing service work for the benefit of our brothers and sisters in Christ. While on our knees, our hands are at work in God’s earthly creation – the soil. Sometimes we are planting seeds in anticipation of new growth; sometimes we are weeding to remove deterrents to new growth; and sometimes we are witnessing to those around us, sharing our personal garden story.

God often uses the lowly, the least assuming, and the least experienced, to do His work. Kneeling in the garden is indeed a God moment for me.” ~ Marie Hurley

Please join us on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 9 am to noon in the Giving Garden for a kickoff. You’ll get to meet some of our partners, eat some yummie breakfast foods, tour the garden, hear a blessing from Pastor Carlisle, and of course get busy digging in the dirt.
