Answers to some frequently asked questions.
Franklin First UMC offers three worship services on Sunday mornings at the Franklin First UMC Main Campus at Mack Hatcher, located at 120 Aldersgate Way in Franklin, Tennessee at 8:30, 10:00 and 11:15 a.m. Our most traditional service is at 10:00 a.m. These services are available in-person and via our livestream platform.
We also offer a Sunday service at the Historic Sanctuary at Fifth Avenue, located at 148 Fifth Avenue South in Franklin, Tennessee. Here you’ll find a traditional Word & Table communion service at 8:30 a.m. each Sunday morning. (Please note that nursery, Children’s, and Youth programming are only provided at the Main Campus at Mack Hatcher.)
Yes! Children of all ages are always welcome in our worship services. Wiggles and giggles just remind us of the joy that goes along with being a part of the family of God. We have children’s worship kits in the back of the sanctuary at both of our campuses to keep little hands busy if this is helpful for you.

If you are visiting our Main Campus at Mack Hatcher, drop by our Welcome Center that’s located in the main lobby. There you will find a crew of people that can help you find anything and everything in our building.
Franklin First UMC is diverse in both age and style. Whether you show up very casual or in a suit, our focus is on worshiping Christ and growing as disciples, not on what you are wearing. We encourage you to dress in a way that you are comfortable and not distracted by appearance, so that you are able to worship and be in Bible study with the attention and focus on honoring God.
If you are attending the Franklin First UMC Main Campus at Mack Hatcher, we have plenty of parking in the lots surrounding our main building. We have several spaces reserved just for visitors, or you can park wherever you like.
If you are attending the Franklin First UMC Historic Sanctuary at 5th Avenue, you may use any of the public parking that surrounds the building. If these areas are full, you may use the parking garage on 4th Avenue, directly next to the courthouse and across from Puckett’s Restaurant.
Yes, Franklin First UMC has a fully staffed nursery at our Main Campus at Mack Hatcher, which is available for children newborn through three years of age. The nursery is available at all three worship times.
Franklin First UMC has an expansive Sunday School program for children, youth and adults. Adult Sunday School is offered during all service times at our Main Campus.
Nursery is offered at 8:30, 10:00 & 11:15 a.m. at our Main Campus (there is no nursery available at our 8:30 service at Historic Sanctuary)
Programs for Preschool – Grade 6 are offered at 10:00 at our Main Campus
Youth programs for 7th – 12th Grades are offered at 10:00 at our Main Campus
Drop by the Welcome Tower in the main lobby during our fellowship time during the time between services or attend one of our “First Steps” gatherings to learn more about our our congregation. Find out more about “First Steps” here.
We offer a bus ministry for adult residents of care communities within a limited radius of the church. For more information about the bus ministry, call the church office at 615-794-2734 to speak with our Pastor of Congregational Care.
Our Main Campus at Mack Hatcher and Franklin Road is ADA compliant with 12 van-accessible handicapped spaces are available as well as automatic access doors at our covered walkway and main entrance to the main lobby (aka Friendship Commons). You’ll also find wheelchair-accessible sidewalks to all entrances of the building. We have easy-to-reach seating areas for wheelchairs and walking aids and a large handicapped, unisex bathroom near the covered walkway entrance. This restroom also features an adult-size changing table. Our classrooms are also fitted with additional space at the doorways to accommodate anyone with special mobility needs. An elevator is available for easy access to any ministry option on the second floor.
Our Historic Sanctuary at Fifth Avenue was built in 1871 and has a wheelchair ramp on the rear side of the building to make the sanctuary accessible. We do not have our own parking available at that location. Street parking in Downtown Franklin and parking at the City of Franklin’s public parking garage on 4th Avenue next to the Williamson County Courthouse is available.
