Music and Arts

Our Music Ministry is designed to help lead others to worship Christ.

Our Music and Arts Ministry creates effective points of worship for multi-generational people to encounter, experience, and celebrate God in an authentic and accessible way through the practice of musical and visual expressions.

“Hallelujah! Praise God in his holy house of worship, praise him under the open skies; Praise him for his acts of power, praise him for his magnificent greatness; Praise with a blast on the trumpet, praise by strumming soft strings; praise him with castanets and dance, praise him with banjo and flute; Praise him with cymbals and a big bass drum, praise him with fiddles and mandolin. Let every living, breathing creature praise God! Hallelujah!”  Psalm 150:1-6 (MSG)

The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:30–7:45 PM. in the Choir Music Room (A127) at Main Campus on Mack Hatcher. This choir provides music each week for the 10:00 a.m. traditional worship service and also presents special musical works during seasonal celebrations and major church events. The choral season starts in early September and continues through late May/early June.

We plan rehearsals several weeks in advance, so you’ll feel prepared even if you need to miss a week. Come and “make a joyful noise”—where faith, friendship, and music come together to lift hearts and glorify God. New voices are always welcome!

Joining a Brass Ensemble at church can be rewarding on several levels—musical, spiritual, and relational. If you play trumpet, trombone, horn, tuba, or euphonium, we would love for you to join our church brass ensemble. It’s a fun way to use your talent for God, make music with others, and add something special
to our worship. All skill levels are welcome — come play with us! We practice at Main Campus on Mack Hatcher in the Choir Music Room (A127).

Join our FFUMC Orchestra and use your musical gifts to inspire worship! We play a variety of sacred music with woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion, and keyboards. This is more than just playing notes—it’s about growing as a musician, building lasting friendships, and serving with purpose. Whether you
have been playing consistently, or your instrument has been gathering dust, you are welcome to join us. Come make music that touches hearts, glorifies God, and has fun doing it! We practice at Main Campus on Mack Hatcher in the Choir Music Room (A127).

Joining a church handbell choir is a unique way to blend music, fellowship, and faith. Each bell you play adds to a rich, harmonious sound that lifts the spirit and enhances worship. You will connect deeply with others, working together in perfect timing to create something beautiful. Beyond the music, it sharpens focus, coordination, and rhythm, while offering the joy of performing in services and concerts. It’s a rewarding experience that unites creativity, community, and spiritual expression.

The Chancel Handbell Choir leads worship monthly. We ring early intermediate to intermediate music and welcome ringers of all experience levels, including beginners. Practices are on Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6:15 PM at Main Campus on Mack Hatcher in the Handbell Room (B135). The handbell season starts in mid-August and continues through early May.

Having your child join a children’s church choir offers far more than just learning to sing. It nurtures their faith by helping them engage with spiritual songs and participate in worship, while also developing musical skills like pitch, rhythm, and memory. Choirs provide a supportive social environment where children learn teamwork, build friendships, and gain confidence through leading worship.

We have two children’s choirs:
Cherub Disciples Choir – a choir for 3’s to Kindergarten. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 6:15 to 7:15 PM at Main Campus on Mack Hatcher

Angel Chorus – a choir for 1st through 6th grades. Rehearsals are on Sundays at 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM at Main Campus on Mack Hatcher

The choir season runs mid-August through early May.

Joining a church praise band is more than playing music—it’s a way to worship, serve, and connect. Through rehearsals and performances, you grow spiritually while using your talents to inspire others. It fosters deep friendships with fellow musicians who share your faith and passion, challenges you to improve your skills, and allows you to creatively express devotion. Ultimately, it is a meaningful way to be part of something bigger, bringing energy, joy, and purpose to both your life and the congregation.

Our modern Sunday worship services are at 8:30 and 11:15 AM. Rehearsals are on Thursdays at 6:30 to 7:30 PM at Main Campus on Mack Hatcher in Wesley Hall.

Do you enjoy decorating or designing at home or at work? If you have a passion and talent for creating—whether it’s painting, textile design, sculpting, decorating, banner-making, woodworking, set design, photography, or other creative arts—there may be a place for you. Members help plan and design liturgical arts for high points of the church season, including sermon series and special events. These creative contributions are not limited to our worship areas at Main Campus and Historic Sanctuary—they can extend throughout the church property.

Joining a Liturgical Arts Team lets you use your creativity to serve God and the church, turning artistic gifts into acts of worship. You help shape the beauty and atmosphere of worship, enriching the congregation’s experience while deepening your own faith. Along the way, you grow in skill, collaborate with others who share your passion, and experience the joy of creating something meaningful that touches hearts and inspires devotion. We welcome volunteers to help plan and design meaningful, inspiring elements for worship and special events, across both campuses.
