Sunday Adult Classes

Our Sunday School classes offer adults a wide selection of age groups, study topics, and learning styles. Most adult classes are mixture of single and married people. Study topics range from the Bible and Christian beliefs to personal growth issues, family relationships, and current social concerns. A strong emphasis on fellowship and support makes these groups a vital part of the church community.

Franklin First UMC offers various classes for adults each Sunday morning at 8:30, 10:00 & 11:15 a.m.

8:30 a.m. Classes

Good News 

Senior & Retired Adults, Singles & Couples; 8:30 a.m.
Join us and hear the Good News! We study the New Testament and ancient Biblical times. We are active in church projects, fundraisers, day trips, and home gatherings. Room B136

 

Voyagers 

55 & up; 8:30 a.m.
Enjoy a variety of lessons taught by various class members. Active in mission projects. Room B144

Weekly Readers

Adults 50’s and up; 8:30 a.m.
This group delves into the pages of authors such as Henri Nowen, Philip Yancey, Marcus Borg, and Karen Armstrong. Join us for an engaging faith discussion. B135

Parents of Young Children

8:30 a.m.
Gather for an hour of peace and renewal. Each week we will reflect on the Scripture and Main Campus sermon from the prior week. Prayer & support abound! Room A213

10:00 a.m. Classes

Amanda Young 

40’s – 60’s; 10:00 a.m.
We grow together in God’s love as we seek and study God’s Word, applying these studies to our daily lives. This class supports various children’s charities. Room B135

Koinonia

Koinonia is the Greek word for fellowship. We study the Bible using the Adult Bible Series and do multiple service projects throughout the year. Room A114

McSwiney

Join us for conversation and friendship as we apply Biblical principles to our lives and care for the community. Room B134

New Horizons 

40’s – 60’s; 10:00 a.m.
Join us for Bible and Biblically-based topical study with group discussion. We are active in mission and programs of the church. Room A115

Seekers 

50’s & Up; 10:00 a.m.
Join us for Bible study and discussion. Active in local and international missions. Room B136

Still Waters 

20’s – 40’s; 10:00 a.m.
Join us as we study Scripture and current topics in a relaxed environment. No prep is required! Active in missions. Room B138

Women in Christ

This group of faith-filled and faithful women meets to dive into the Bible through various studies. Room B144

Connections

We dive into God’s Word using the Adult Bible Study Series and other short-term studies as we build friendships and serve God. Room A113.

First Steps 

First Steps is a series of 4 interactive sessions that helps you understand the “Why” of our mission, the “What” of your next steps, and the “How” of your participation with God’s redemptive plan in the world.

We’ll cover everything from what it means to be a follower of Christ, how to grow in your spiritual journey, a look at the history of the church, and more.

Meets in A114 – The Parlor

Class for adults that meets the 4th Sunday of the month.  Holy Households is a hopeful space where we come together to learn, support one another, and nurture faithful families.  Our discussion topics change from month to month.  Watch the bulletin in the FFUMC app or the weekly newsletter on Thursdays for details.  Meets in Room A214.
