Leader: This Advent, the time is now to wake from our sleep. Salvation is near! Therefore, let us confess our sins as together we pray:
Prayer of Confession:
All: God of night and day, there is no shadow that can conceal our sin from you and no secret that you will not bring to light. O God, forgive our sins, renew us in love, and teach us to live in a way that brings honor and glory to your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
Assurance of Pardon:
Leader: Brothers and sisters, the God of steadfast love encourages us to continue in faith. Rejoice, for God brings forgiveness and healing. Therefore I declare to you, in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
Congregation: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
