I have loved to cook since I was a child.  My Mother was an elementary music teacher and she would usually get home later from school than I would so she would leave me a list of a few things I could do to help prepare for dinner.  I also babysat for a couple down the street from us in New Orleans that loved to cook and entertain.  So between My Mom and that couple, I learned early on how to meal plan and do some light cooking.

As my parents got older, whenever I would go visit them, I would cook several different meals and freeze them so they didn’t have to cook as many meals on their own. I loved being able to do this for them and I know they loved being able to pull something out of the freezer for an easy meal.

So when the opportunity arose to help with Meals On Wheels, I was eager to help with the cooking. It gives me a lot pleasure to cook for other people and to provide them with a nutritious meal. It is also fun to work with the same people each month and share some time together as we prepare that day’s meal.
