All: Merciful God, we confess that we want you to act on our timing and in our way. We trust ourselves above trusting you and it often clouds our steps. We look for convenience rather than mercy, and we let other voices have our attention before we wait for yours. Forgive us and free us for a joyful, trusting obedience that leads us to life; for you alone are our hope!
