Congregational Care Ministers

Interested in being a Congregational Care Minister?

Congregational Care Ministers are trained lay members of this church who work together to meet the needs of our congregation. These persons serve alongside John Melick, our Pastor of Congregational Care, and Rick Beck, our Visitation Minister. Congregational Care Ministers serve our church through hospital visits, telephone calls, meeting one-on-one with persons in need, visiting care facilities, sending notes of encouragement, and most importantly holding one another in prayer. Our Congregational Care Ministers meet regularly to be in covenant and prayer over the needs of this church.

Congregational Care Ministers have demonstrated strong leadership skills, knowledge of the Bible and United Methodist doctrine and practice, and are skilled in relating helpfully to persons who are in stressful life situations. They meet regularly with our pastors to receive assignments, report on contacts, and receive guidance in their ministry and continued training. Congregational Care Ministers must attend Safe Sanctuary and pass a background check. All information shared with these individuals is held to the highest standard of confidentiality.

If you know of someone in the hospital, moving to a care facility, or in need of someone to reach out to Rick Beck or Pastor John. You can also call the church office at 615-794-2734, and your message will be relayed to this team.

If you think you might be called to serve the church in this way, contact Rick Beck or Pastor John. This is a team always open to new members!
