Franklin First UMC hosts Room in the Inn Guests (RITI) each Wednesday and Thursday night from November to March. This “Academy” provides a picture of how we provide hospitality for our RITI guests and the landscape of homelessness in our community. Rooms B-132/133, 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. This class is led by Pastor Jason Brock, Dan & Rachel Williamson and others.
- Oct 3 – Inn Keeper Academy. What is Room in the Inn? Learn how you can get involved within our church! What is an “Inn Keeper”? What is the role of the coordinator? Service opportunities exist in Room in the Inn from the most basic one-time task to weekly support and creating long lasting relationships with guests and church members.
- Oct 10 – Room in the Inn, Roy Carter. Former Pastor Roy Carter, who is now the church outreach coordinator for Room in the Inn will share about his story, experiences, and insights into the organization. What does church engagement with Room in the Inn look like? How can I get involved? How do I serve this community? What will serving guests from Nashville do for our community of faith?
- Oct 24 – Shower Up! What is the landscape of homelessness in Nashville? What is Shower Up? How do they support this community?
