The 40 days of Lent invite us into the Christian practices that bind us to Christ and one another. This season gives us a daily reminder that we need each other. Join us in our Lent 2016 Food Drive on Sunday, February 14 as we observe the first Sunday in Lent. Graceworks is our community partner that hosts the local food pantry. They have specific needs for critical items, including items for student fuel bags. Consider a donation of 40 items that meet the immediate needs in our community. The shopping list is:

  • Pasta Sauce (Plastic or cans)

  • 8 oz. shelf stable milk (not powder milk) – Brands include Horizon, Hershey’s, Natrel

Bring all of your items to the Franklin First UMC Main Campus at Mack Hatcher. We will have places to receive your items at each of the entrances as you come in the building and also in Asbury Hall. As Lent calls us to renew a commitment to move from a life marked by routine into a life marked by reflection, we begin these 40 days with a new perspective on walking with the One who has gone before us as we prepare for this holy season.
