In John 15:4-5 Jesus tells us “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. A branch can’t produce fruit by itself, but must remain in the vine. Likewise, you can’t produce fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, then you will produce much fruit. Without me, you can’t do anything.”
Franklin First UMC strives to equip young people to be life-long disciples. The youth ministry provides a variety of ways for youth to engage in developing their faith, using their gifts, and playing an important role in God’s work in the world. Through mission trips, worship, small groups, ministry teams, and weekly programs, youth can connect to this faith community, grow in their faith, and practice serving God and the world – now.
The Journey is a tool that is designed to help you develop your faith and grow as a disciple through engaging in five spiritual practices: Worship, Service, Personal Discipleship, Evangelism, and Community. The Journey is available to all youth. Participants go through the process at their own pace – having a full year to complete each portion of The Journey. All necessary materials are provided. There are six paths – one for each school year. Youth can enter the Journey during any year with no requirements of completed previous paths.
