- Each trip to ACD and Guatemala there are new experiences God has planned. This trip I enjoyed visiting the cooking classes in the 2nd floor kitchen and met one participant Yolanda. What a blessing to see and hear her excitement and thankfulness for the opportunity to earn a little money for her family. Working in the medical clinic and VBS were two other highlights of this trip as I experienced the positive attitudes and joy of so many children and adults that are part of the ACD family. ~Liz Johnson
- I have never felt closer to being the hands and feet of Jesus than the work we do with ACD in Guatemala. The medical clinic, the efficient stove installations, and the water filters provide health, hope, and relief to people who now have a brighter tomorrow. ~Russell Little
- First time to Guatemala and being part of the FFUMC Missions team. The week was amazing and almost indescribable; I’ve never laughed, cried, and worked so hard in my long life to date as I have this past week. I fell in love with the people at ACD, the Guatemalan people and those we supported this week, and the members of the FFUMC Mission team. To be able and blessed to do this incredible work and provide such life-changing things for the beautiful people of Guatemala has been an experience of a lifetime and one I will never forget and hope to do again. ~Kathy Bell
- Going on a mission trip to Guatemala has changed my perspective on life. It has shown how the Lord can work in my life and the lives of others. I now have three families: my own family, my church family and my Guatemala family. ~Mitzi Horn
- Visiting the beautiful country of Guatemala and spending time at ACD was an incredible blessing. I had the privilege of witnessing God move in powerful and inspiring ways. Our friends at ACD are doing an amazing job of sharing Christ’s love in their community—whether it’s through installing water filters, stoves, or concrete floors. While those physical needs are so important, the greatest impact often comes simply through presence, prayer, and genuine connection. Guatemala is a truly special place, full of wonderful people, and I already can’t wait to return! ~Lizzie Kamstra
- This was my 25th mission to Guatemala. I continue to be amazed at the scenery, people and their gratefulness for our presence and service. Relationships…this is the most important thing…the rest are just details. ~Steve Fulton aka Poppa Grande
- Wow, I don’t think any of my own words can truly express how much I learned and what expected and unexpected blessings and even miracles I experienced on this April 2025 group mission trip to ACD Guatemala. After being encouraged by so many others in recent years, I finally felt I could break away from family responsibilities and commit to the trip! And boy did God bless me in doing so… I now know personally why it is such a highly recommended trip. I sure feel like I was more blessed than being a blessing! I’ve not felt closer to God and my fellow human beings! If/when you ever feel called to go in person, it is a trip like no other both in physical, mental, emotional and spiritual ways – calling upon your energy and time and heart! I came home so filled with hope for humanity’s future due to the proof on the ground that God is working! Again, I promise you, truly you gain more than you give in the end and God meets you right where you are! He blessed me with his assurance of His love for not just me but my fellow man. I encourage anyone to consider and take this mission trip and yet also know that it’s not always possible… There are so many ways to support this mission of our church. I hope to inspire you to find ways to get involved – God calls us to serve, and I love our church’s mission of “Seeking first the kingdom of God” through our prayers, witness, and service! ACD is a true example of how we can be God’s hands and feet on the ground in the world! ~Elizabeth (Liz) Johnson
- ‘It is amazing to witness God having already been at work with ACD. I feel blessed to be a part of the help during this week, and to see firsthand the effort and support ACD produces as well. A little of my heart now belongs in Xela with my extended family in Christ. Looking forward to the opportunity to go back again with my continuing support.’ ~Emory Warren
